I recently visited Sydney and, of course, couldn’t imagine going there without trying to schedule a meet with the wonderfully talented New York Times bestselling urban fantasy author Keri Arthur. Despite having worked on Keri’s books for over four years, I’d never met her in the flesh, and so you can imagine my delight when she said she'd be more than happy to fly to Sydney from Melbourne to meet me!
We went for lunch in the lush Café Sydney and the view was certainly nothing to complain about, as you can see from the photo.
Keri is all I could have hoped for: friendly, chatty, interesting, unassuming and incredibly down to earth. We chatted about a whole number of things, and, before I knew it, it was time to head off again. It wonderful to meet her, and I'm really thrilled she made the trip up to meet me.
If you’re a fan of pacy, sexy urban fantasy and have yet to experience Keri’s writing then I highly recommend (as I’m sure her huge international fanbase will also!). Her most famous series to date is the Riley Jenson Guardian series, whose heroine is half-werewolf, half-vampire. In sequence, the books in that series are: Full Moon Rising, Kissing Sin, Tempting Evil, Dangerous Games, Embraced by Darkness, The Darkest Kiss, Deadly Desire, Bound to Shadows and Moon Sworn.
The series concluded with Moon Sworn, and next week excitingly sees the launch of Keri’s brand new Dark Angels series, with Darkness Unbound. The second book follows a month later and is called Darkness Rising, and Darkness Devours (book 3) is scheduled for publication next summer.
