Meeting Judy Nunn
Posted by Donna Condon in Book News
It was with huge excitement that I went with to meet the infam
ous Judy Nunn and her husband Bruce Venables for dinner in Sydney recently. I’m a huge fan of Judy – as both an actor (she played the formidable Ailsa Stewart in the well-loved Aussie soap Home & Away), and also as an author (she’s one of Australia’s bestselling authors under her real name, Judy Nunn).
I couldn’t have wished for a nicer person with whom to have dinner. Judy was warm, down to earth, friendly, chatty and an all-round fantastic dinner companion (as was the ever-entertaining Bruce!); she spoke about her writing with absolute and infectious passion, and it’s easy to see how her novels completely capture and transport her readers when so much thought and emotion is injected into them.
We at Piatkus have published two of Judy’s novels - Maralinga and Pacific - and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a meaty, escapist holiday read!!
