This month we will be encouraging PiatkusBooks.net readers to get involved in the international debate already building around Dr Eben Alexander’s Proof of Heaven, the profound true story of how a near-death experience led Dr Alexander to make the unexpected transition from stalwart man of science to a believer in life beyond death.
In this video, taken from the Science Channel’s Through the Wormhole documentary (with voice-over by Morgan Freeman) Dr Alexander talks about his experience of the afterlife.
Inspirational, and truly remarkable, whatever your beliefs we’d love to hear your thoughts, so get involved with the conversation now in the comments box below on Facebook and Twitter using #proofofheaven and #ebenalexander.

I am so glad that someone with a SCIENCE background and a solid career is finally speaking openly about these things. I have had similar experiences myself and in particular applaud him for documenting this when so much of the otherworldy experiences are difficult to convey in words as they are not only beyond language even beyond the normal human imagination.
There are still lots of questions, and I look forward to the book and seeing if he can shed any light on the relationship between "that" world and how it sometimes bizarrely leaks into our mundane lives, such as with June Kidd and her book "Unshriven" where she began writing what she thought was fiction in one country but turned out to be historical facts from a village in another! (A few life changing synchronicities later she finds herself at the real grave of one of the character in the book!) So there is not only this world and that world, but an interweaving of consciousnesses between the two. If you factor statistical probablility into the equation, a scientific examination of events would also suggest the notion of "purpose" or a highly complex organised system way beyond our ken! Perhaps this is the very reason that most self declared scientists have shyed away from addressing these matters in any detail. The evidence does indeed shake the very foundations that the stubborn scientist stand their careers on… but true science IS INDEED exploration. A journey. Dr Eben Alexander is a true scientist in this respect, and it will be interesting to see what reaction he gets when the book is out. Brave Man. It will be a test of the open-mindedness of the scientific community.
